BIOGRAFIA

È insegnante, autrice e formatrice.

Ha un M.A. nell’insegnamento della lingua inglese ai bambini molto piccoli. Attualmente tiene corsi per docenti di scuola primaria in Spagna e corsi di formazione in tutto il mondo. Ha insegnato inglese ai bambini per circa 30 anni e insegna tuttora in due scuole di Siviglia.

Vanessa è co-autrice per Oxford University Press di Very Young Learners e di Writing with Children, entrambi pubblicati nella collana Resource Book for Teachers. È inoltre autrice di vari corsi quali Cool! Zap A and B, Big Surprise!, Learn with Us e di un corso per la scuola dell’infanzia dal titolo Cookie and friends, che ha vinto il premio British Council Innovation Award nel 2005.

The power of communication and storytelling: strategies for an inclusive classroom

The first part of this workshop will consider how to create opportunities for all our primary age children to communicate and use the English they are learning. We will look at fun and fruitful activities to provide optimal conditions for primary children to start speaking; in addition, we will consider the needs of young learners and how we can meet those needs with sound activities for all the children’s linguistic development.  

The second part of this workshop will concern storytelling; we will explore the idea that a well-chosen story can entertain and motivate all our children at the same time as helping them learn the English necessary to understand the story and work on a range of concepts crucial in the development of the whole child.

TARGET: primary school English teachers.

This workshop will be in English.

N.B.: per partecipare al meglio alle attività proposte durante questo workshop, il partecipante dovrebbe portare con sè una colla e un paio di forbici.
